Robert Gempeler is a partner at Kunzler Bean & Adamson, who’s practice focuses on patent drafting, patent prosecution, patent litigation, patent searching, trademarks, copyrights, and licensing matters. Robert has experience in various technology areas including computer software and hardware, artificial intelligence and machine learning, networking, electrical systems, mobile devices, mobile applications, e-commerce, quantum computing, search optimization, cryptographic systems, internet technologies, mechanical systems, and more.
Robert joined KB&A as a law clerk while attending law school at Brigham Young University, where he graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, Robert served as a Senior Editor of the BYU Law Review and the International Law and Management Review and was a member of the BYU Moot Court Team. Prior to law school, Robert received an MBA from the University of Utah and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Utah State University, where he graduated magna cum laude in the top 5% of his class.
Before pursuing a career as a patent attorney, Robert worked as a software engineer for a software developer in St. George, Utah. While there, Robert was a member of a team responsible for the development and maintenance of a multi-language, static source code analysis tool. Robert gained experience with various programming and computer technologies while working as a software engineer, including C, C++, C#, Java, PHP, HTML, XML, SQL, networking, databases, and more. Robert is also conversational in Dutch and Flemish.
When not working, Robert enjoys spending time with his family in the outdoors camping, fishing, hunting, off-roading, and skiing. Robert also sits on the boards of his local little league football and basketball programs and enjoys coaching his sons’ football and basketball teams.
